    About the Course

This course equips participants with a practical and evidence-based understanding of anger—its causes, bodily signs, and relational impact—while training them in effective, healthy techniques to manage and transform anger. Emphasis is placed on cognitive-behavioral tools, immediate calming strategies, and communication skills to reduce escalation and improve interpersonal and workplace relationships.

    Objectives:

    • Define anger and distinguish healthy anger from aggressive outbursts.
    • Identify triggers and cognitive patterns that lead to anger episodes.
    • Master immediate control techniques (breathing, grounding, time-outs).
    • Apply cognitive-behavioral strategies to reshape automatic reactions.
    • Develop assertive, non-aggressive communication skills for conflict resolution.
    • Build a personalized relapse-prevention plan to sustain progress.

    Target Audience:

    • Individuals struggling with impulse control or frequent anger episodes.
    • Parents and caregivers seeking better ways to manage anger with children.
    • Teachers and professionals in high-stress environments.
    • Therapists and counselors looking for practical anger-treatment tools.
    • Anyone aiming to improve emotional regulation and relationships.

    Course Topics:

    1. Introduction to Anger: Functionality of anger and difference from aggression.
    2. Physiology & Early Warning Signs: How the body reacts (heart rate, breathing, muscle tension) and spotting personal cues.
    3. Triggers & Cognitive Patterns: Biological, social triggers, and cognitive distortions (all-or-nothing thinking, overgeneralization).
    4. Immediate Control Tools: Diaphragmatic breathing, grounding, progressive muscle relaxation, stop-count-breathe technique.
    5. Cognitive-Behavioral Strategies: Cognitive reframing, evidence testing, anger journaling, controlled exposure to triggers.
    6. Communication Skills: Using “I” statements, active listening, de-escalation techniques, setting healthy boundaries.
    7. Contextual Anger Management: Parental anger, workplace stress, marital conflicts, handling public provocation.
    8. Prevention & Maintenance: Daily stress-management routines, relapse signs, when to seek professional help (CBT or medication if indicated).
    9. Practical Exercises & Case Studies: Role-plays, case analysis, and a feasible personal action plan.

    Assessment Methods:

    • Self-report measures of anger frequency/intensity (pre/post).
    • Anger diary tracking with coached feedback.
    • Communication skill assessments through simulations.
